Sender ID registration
Send under your organisation’s name.
A sender ID is the name recipients see instead of a phone number, such as KITSACCO. Networks register each name for one organisation, and we handle the process with you.
How registration works
-
1
Create your account
Register your organisation and confirm your email. We review business details, usually within one working day.
-
2
Apply in the dashboard
Enter the name (3 to 11 letters and numbers, at least one letter), describe who you will message and why, and choose the networks.
-
3
Upload your documents
A signed authorisation letter on your letterhead and your business registration certificate (PDF, PNG or JPEG).
-
4
Pay the one-time fee
The total for the networks you chose is shown before you submit; an M-Pesa prompt is sent to your phone.
-
5
We register it with the networks
Follow progress on the application page. If a network needs more information, we tell you there.
-
6
Start sending
Once the name is approved, it appears in your composer. Approval times depend on the networks.
Good to know
- Paying the fee does not guarantee approval; the networks decide. The Refund Policy explains when fees are refunded.
- Use a name your recipients recognise: your brand, institution or a clear abbreviation of it.
- Promotional messages must include opt-out instructions, which we add automatically.
